Purpose This award is presented to a teacher who exhibits exemplary use of technology in the classroom. The teacher recognizes and uses a wide variety of technology tools to enhance the learning of all students.
Eligibility The TCEA Classroom Teacher of the Year award is open to all certified public, private, and parochial early childhood through grade 12 educators. The primary job responsibility of the applicant must be teaching in the classroom. Nominees must be members of TCEA. (Non-members may submit membership and dues at the time of entry.) Previous nominees are eligible and encouraged to enter. Active TCEA board members are not eligible for this award.

As part of the online application, each nominee will be asked to provide information including:

Additional information relating to this award
Each nominee must provide the names of three (3) professional references, one of which must be his or her immediate supervisor.
Three finalists will be chosen and must be able to attend the TCEA Convention & Exposition where the TCEA Classroom Teacher of the Year will be announced.
The TCEA Classroom Teacher of the Year shall receive an engraved plaque and $1,000 from TCEA. Two finalists will each receive a plaque and $500. The TCEA Classroom Teacher of the Year will be announced during a private awards ceremony and a keynote session at the TCEA Convention & Exposition. The three finalists will be notified by telephone prior to the convention. Recognition of the winners will be posted to the TCEA website at www.tcea.org.
The Teacher of the Yearrecipient will be entered in the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Outstanding Teacher of the Year. For more information, please visit www.iste.org and click on Member Resources under Membership.
Applications must be submitted online on or before October 31, 2014.
Applicants will be disqualified if all information is not completed and submitted to TCEA by the deadline. A committee of TCEA board members and other educators will rate each application.
