Virtual LEGO® EV3 Robotics – Introductory Learning

Six-hour introductory course delivered over two days

Just getting into robotics? Found a dusty set in your classroom closet? Your principal has volunteered you to run the robotics program at school? This is the virtual course for you. The EV3 Core Set is a cross-curricular STEM robotics system that engages students in designing, constructing, and coding of bots. This training is perfect for the new-to-robotics teachers or teachers who need to learn the new programming language LEGO® has released.

The foundational course covers:

  • EV3 Intelligent Brick
  • What’s in the Box? (Technic building elements)
  • New Classroom App for EV3 (based on Scratch)
  • Entry-Level Lessons
  • Tips to Start a Robotics Club or Class
  • TCEA Robotics Competitions

To participate, you will need the following:

  • One device with the programming Classroom app. Download the programming app here for Macintosh Catalina, Windows, iPad or Chromebook.
  • One device for online instruction delivery via Zoom
  • LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Core Set  (45544)

The six hours will provide four hours of instruction via Zoom and approximately two hours of individual construction and programming offline.
