Artificial Intelligence

Support guidelines and standards for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in educational settings to ensure ethical, equitable, and transparent practices that prioritize student well-being, data privacy, and educational integrity.

Broadband

Support Broadband Development Across Texas:

  • Advocate for the implementation and expansion of broadband-related programs specifically designed to enhance connectivity in school districts.
  • Ensure that all school districts, including those in rural and underserved areas, have access to reliable high-speed internet.
  • Encourage collaboration between public entities and private sector partners to accelerate the deployment of broadband infrastructure, ensuring every student has equitable access to digital resources.

Digital Learning

K-8 Technology Applications:

  • Safeguard the implementation of technology applications in K-8 curriculum, ensuring that foundational technology skills are integrated into early education.

Professional Development for Blended Learning:

  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers to effectively integrate technology and blended learning strategies into their classrooms.

Support Full-Time Virtual Learning Options:

  • Advocate for the continuation of policies that allow school districts to offer full-time virtual learning options for students.
  • Ensure that virtual learning programs are well-funded and maintain high standards of quality, including micro-credentialing for educators.

Cybersecurity and Technology Infrastructure

Cybersecurity Training for School District Employees:

  • Ensure that educators are equipped to recognize and respond to cybersecurity threats, protecting sensitive information and maintaining the integrity of school networks.

Continued Funding for Cybersecurity and Technology Infrastructure:

  • Advocate for ongoing funding through the Texas K-12 Cybersecurity Initiative to support the acquisition and maintenance of cybersecurity and other technology-related equipment.
