Campus Technology Specialist Certification

The purpose of the TCEA Campus Technology Specialist certification program is to provide a venue for educators who wish to become, or already are, campus-level technology specialists. The emphasis will be on developing skills to help classroom teachers successfully integrate technology into the everyday curriculum. Participants who successfully complete the certification requirements will be fully prepared to serve as a technology specialist on any campus, possessing the knowledge and skills to increase learning through the use of educational technology.

Participants in the program are encouraged to join the Instructional Coaches group in the TCEA Community for additional support, insight, and information in regards to current topics and issues related to the role of Campus Technology Specialist, Instructional Coaches, Digital Learning Specialists, etc.

Why Learn with TCEA?

  • Our courses are streamlined for efficient and lasting learning.
  • We share ideas and resources that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
  • We also offer ideas and techniques based on years of experience in professional development, integrating educator feedback to always meet the needs of course participants.

Self-Paced Online Course

The Campus Technology Specialist Certification is a self-paced online program. In previous years, students were expected to attend scheduled webinars. In this new system, participants can begin anytime and go at their own speed throughout the program.

After you enroll, TCEA will send a welcome email outlining the course requirements, including a link to your individual portfolio website. You will receive a separate program invitation email from Canvas, which will let you access your sessions. The sessions are called modules and must be moved through in sequential order. The modules can be found below.

Participants have 12 months to complete the required course hours. Once your coursework, final project and/or portfolio are completed, your program coordinator will provide you with feedback. Upon successful completion of all requirements, you will receive a framed certificate.

33 Total CPE Hours
We estimate that it will take you 25 hours of coursework and an additional 8 hours for the final project, totaling 33 CPE credits.

Upon successful completion of all requirements, domestic participants will receive a digital badge and framed certificate. International participants will receive a digital badge and digital certificate.
