Schoology Educator is a self-paced, online program. Participants can begin anytime and go at their own speed throughout the program.

Upon enrollment, you will receive a program invitation email from TCEA’s learning management system that will give you access to the self-paced course. Within the course, you will find modules that must be moved through in sequential order.

Course Modules

Getting Started with Schoology: This module will include an overview of the Schoology platform. We will also review setting up your Schoology profile and creating a sandbox course that will be used to complete all of the Do-it-Yourself (DIY) activities during the course.

Schoology Courses and Groups: In this module, participants will take a deeper dive into the differences between Schoology courses & groups. We will consider when it is most appropriate to create groups vs. courses. Participants will practice creating materials within groups and courses (assignments, discussions, assessments, etc.)

Communicating in Schoology: In module 3, participants will learn about the different communication that can occur within Schoology: teacher to teacher, teacher to student, and teacher to parent. This module will also explore features within schoology such as messaging, announcements, and polls. Participants will practice using tools to keep open lines of communication with staff, students & parents.

Schoology Can Do What!?: During module 4, participants will take a closer look at some features of Schoology that will help them create engaging digital classrooms for all stakeholders. This module will showcase how to use different Schoology tools to create an instructional environment where students have everything they need in one place. Participants will practice by creating a sample unit/module within their Schoology course.

Maximizing Schoology Resources: In the final module, participants will learn about Schoology Resources. This module will specifically focus on personal, group, and shared resources. By the end of this module, participants will be able to curate and share resources with others across the Schoology platform. Participants will also familiarize themselves with the Schoology mobile app, and Schoology Support Resources.

Note: If you do not have access to Schoology through your school or organization, you will be unable to practice the activities demonstrated in this course.
