The purpose of this self-paced, online course is to help educators build a foundational understanding of how to implement student self-reported grades in the classroom. According to John Hattie’s extensive research into what works in education, implementing “student expectations” can provide an additional three years of growth in learning and achievement in one year. Hattie says “This strategy involves the teacher finding out what are the student’s expectations and pushing the learner to exceed these expectations. Once a student has performed at a level that is beyond their own expectations, he or she gains confidence in his or her learning ability.” Participants in this course will gain ideas for getting started with self-reported grades, access ready-made templates, and collaborate with others on the topic.
