STEAM Educator

This online, self-paced course offers an introduction to STEAM’s multi-disciplinary approach needed to build the creative, innovative problem solvers of tomorrow. The purpose of this course is to offer strategies and content to help you set up and grow your STEAM program, be it for content enrichment, a STEAM class, or after school.

The course will examine the principles of STEAM and its practices, including design thinking, intentional observing, collaborating, persisting, reflecting, and communicating. Some of the topics explored are journaling, the engineering design process, beginning robotics, and making. Also covered are technology tools and kits for an upper elementary and middle school STEAM program. Online resources and standards-based lessons have been gathered to help you get started with STEAM right away.
