This course explores how students can develop essential future-ready skills through game-based learning. You’ll learn to use Minetest, a free, open-source virtual learning environment, to create engaging learning experiences. The course demonstrates how to combine game-based learning with design thinking and adapt evidence-based instructional strategies to scaffold teaching and learning. Instruction aligns with the ISTE Standards for Students, and the strategies are also applicable to Microsoft’s Minecraft.
Participants will gain guidance on how to get and use Minetest in the classroom and at home at no extra cost.
Technical Requirements: Minetest works on Windows, Mac, Android, and GNU/Linux devices. It is not compatible with Chromebooks or iOS devices
