TCEA Announces Retirement of Executive Director Lori Gracey
March 27, 2026

AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Board of Directors of TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association) announced today the retirement of Executive Director Lori Gracey, CAE. Lori, who has led the association since 2009, leaves behind a legacy of unprecedented growth, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to the educators of Texas and beyond.

During her tenure, Lori transformed TCEA from a membership of roughly 10,000 to a global community of more than 89,000 educators. Under her leadership, the association expanded its professional development offerings, launched a suite of successful online courses, and established a robust legislative voice for educational technology in the Texas State Capitol.

Prior to her role as Executive Director, Lori served on the TCEA Board of Directors for 13 years and spent 28 years in public education as a teacher and as a curriculum and technology director.

The TCEA Board of Directors will begin its search for the next Executive Director in the coming months. Deputy Executive Director Ben Starr, who has been with the association since 2013, will lead the organization as Interim Executive Director until a successor is appointed.
